Available: Fall 2008/Winter 08-09/Spring 2009 Compensation: This position is unpaid. NARAL Pro-Choice Connecticut will help secure academic credit if applicable. Summary: NARAL Pro-Choice Connecticut is a leader in promoting state policies that protect and encourage healthy reproductive choices. We work closely with some of Connecticut’s most influential policy makers on pro-choice legislation. Policy interns will participate in every phase of policy development: conducting research, developing messaging, assisting with lobbying activities, coalition building, and much more. Policy interns will get to experience the Connecticut General Assembly and lawmaking from a pro-choice perspective. The skills you will learn as an intern and the people you will meet will help you establish highly marketable skills for the future. Primary Responsibilities: · Assist with research on reproductive health policy. · Transform research into policy recommendations. · Assist in developing messaging and lobbying materials. · Attend coalition meetings. · Organize and participate in press conferences and lobby days.
