United States Senate Passes 12-Month Extension of "Abstinence-Only" Program

The United States Senate has approved Medicare legislation that includes provisions to extend Title V, "abstinence-only" programs for another year. 

This bill does not include any measures to ensure that programs are proven effective and medically accurate, and does not grant states the flexibility to fund traditional sex-education programs that work best for their teens.
